Hello ’55 Blue Comets….

Summer is almost over, and we hope yours has been a great one.

Our next luncheon will be Thursday, September 21, at the Olde Towne Deli.  We hope to have a good crowd for the usual good fellowship.  People still are amazed when we tell them how often we meet and how many take part.  Perhaps we shouldn’t brag, but the truth is we are special!!!

We talked to Charlotte (owner of Deli) and worked out a few details, hopefully to everyone’s advantage.  We will have a limited menu.  This will save a lot of time and also allow the staff there to take care of regular customers.  They have to get our orders first because of the large number of our class in attendance.  Then they can take care of others.  Actually the menu will probably suit almost everyone because she has chosen the items which are the most popular.  HERE it is:  chicken salad sandwich, Ruben sandwich, or turkey sandwich (these, of course, come with all the trimmings as usual); Hawaiian chicken salad, with pasta or fruit; and quiche with pasta or fruit.  We think everyone will be satisfied choosing from these five entrees.  Of course, we can choose our drinks and desserts from menu.

Another item we discussed was parking.  As you know, their parking is limited.  Therefore, we are asking you, if at all possible, to please carpool so that the regular customers can be served.  Most of these are working people and have to be on a schedule.  We are blessed in that we can come and visit and stay for a much longer time if we so desire.  So please….CARPOOL.  We are lucky not to be charged for the room.  Plus, we have been able to have a long visiting time.

We look forward to seeing you on the 21st.  Try to arrive by 11:15 and have your food choice ready for the waitress.  We know there will be lots to talk about and discuss.  If you know of someone who hasn’t taken part, why not give them a call and urge them to be a part of the best class ever to graduate from Asheboro High.

                                                                                    Looking forward to seeing you,
