Ownbey Update

 

On Friday; December  7, The Carlton (the high rise across from the church) will be the site for the class Christmas social from 6:00 to 8:00.  Gerald and Rea Baxter are our host.  If you have not signed up and want to attend, give Durward a call.  Space may be a little tight so try to "stagger" attendance if possible.  Hope to see you there enjoying the goodies, the fellowship and the beautiful view from the rooftop of The Carlton.  Parking will be across the street in the church parking lot.  Someone will be at the door or a message will be on the board to direct you to the rooftop.

 

Sydnor and Harriett will host their annual "Breakfast with the Thompsons" at their home on Sunday morning December 9 at 8:00 am.  Sydnor will be our teacher and will teach from the Adult Bible Series.

 

Emily Alyea went home from the hospital on Sunday and is doing well.  She goes to the doctor next week and the decision will be make then as to when she may begin getting out.  Ann Copeland talked with Emily today.  Emily does not need any food at the present time but welcomes cards and calls.  Her address and phone number is 3907 Patamac Ct. 28211  (704) 719-3498.

 

 The Nominating Committee presented the class officers for 2008 on Sunday.  They are:
