Hi folks (on August 5, 2001 Sunday)(and updated 10/29/01)

Here is info on where I will be the week of 8/6 - 8/10

Monday 08/06/01 - Don drives to daughter Julie and Gabe Szabo's home in Raleigh arriving by 9:30 pm +/-. ()
Tuesday 08/07/01 - maybe by noon Buz, Don, Gabe, and Christopher are on their way .... for 5 +/- hour drive to Lake Junaluska. Arrive for dinner by 5:30 - 6:30 pm (if Interstate 40 delays are not bad) or so and a 7 pm boat ride around the Lake. Spend night at Terrace Inn, telephone is 828 452 2881 (ext 8).
Wednesday 08/08/01 - Breakfast 7:30 am -8:30 am, then leave Terrace Inn and drive hour to Trail head at Newfound Gap, then hike 7.8 miles to Mt Leconte Lodge. Dinner at 6 pm. Will follow Appalachian Trail 2.7 miles then Boulevard trail for 5.1 more. My favorite trail, Alum Cave, is closed for maintenance until 9/27/01. I have hiked the Appalachian Trail part of this route but not the Boulevard part. You can see the elevation change and details of the hike at the links below. Doubt if there are phones at LeConte Lodge, but their business phone is 865 429 5704 in Sevierville, TN
Thursday 08/09/01 - Breakfast at 8 am and then hike back down the mountain and then drive to Raleigh, getting there between 7 pm and Midnight.
Friday 08/10/01 - Don will drive back to Charlotte.

Monday 10/29/01 - Pack

Tuesday 10/30/01 - Between noon and 3pm Don on way from Charlotte .... for 2.5 +/- hour drive to Lake Junaluska. Arrive for dinner by 5:30 - 6:30 pm (if Interstate 40 delays are not bad) or so

Wednesday 10/31/01 - (Halloween) Breakfast 7:30 am -8:30 am, leave Terrace Inn, and drive hour to Trail head at Alum Cave. Hike the5.2 miles to Mt Leconte Lodge. Dinner at 6 pm. This is my favorite trail (Alum Cave) and it was closed earlier for maintenance from 9/6/01 to 9/27/01 Doubt if there are phones at LeConte Lodge, but their business phone is 865 429 5704 in Sevierville, TN. The National Park services number is (865) 436-1200. My cell phone is 704 533-4324

Thursday 11/01/01 - Breakfast at 8 am, hike back down the mountain, drive to Charlotte getting there between 4 pm and 5 pm.
