After class today, some members came up to me and said they would like to
increase their pledge to help us achieve the much needed $136,500 that will
bring the capital funds drive to a close and will get that matching gift.

With that, the  challenge pledges totaling $1.3 million will kick in. We had
to reach our $15 million dollar goal to meet that challenge.  That would
bring our total campaign to $16,300,000.

It's all hanging on our getting the $136,500.  Simply speaking,  273 members
giving an additional $500 each would get us there.  Our class pledges this
morning reduced the $136,500 to $133,500.

With Chick's permission, would you let all the class know?  We will not receive the names of any
contributors.  However, if you let them know you are in the Ownbey Class, we
could report our success.  If no other contributions come from the class, we
can let the class know we have contributed in excess of $3000 to this "extra
effort."

As I understand it, there will be an additional Charge Conference on Sept.
10.  It would be great if the campaign leadership could announce  that the
entire $16,300,000 goal had been reached.

Remember, as in any church campaign, every penny counts, but these are matching dollars.
Fifty dollars now get us and additional $50.

And on up the ladder.
