Parking
Information
Parking for Members and their Guests
is on Stadium Drive in the spaces adjacent to the club. Charges for parking
occur Weekdays from 7:30am to 5:30pm. A permit must be purchased from the
Parking Booth located in the traffic circle in front of the George Watts
Hill Alumni Center. Payment can be made by member account or cash. Permits
can be purchased in 2 hour ($2), 5 hour ($5), and all-day permits ($10).
Should Stadium Drive be full, members and/or guests will be directed to
our overflow parking in Ehringhaus Lot (across Ridge Rd. from the Club).
Parking is free before 7:30am or after 5:30pm but also available to students,
staff, faculty and visitors on a first-come basis. All groups attending
a private event should consult the Catering Office for their parking options.
New
Member Benefit - ”Special Access” Permits
The Carolina Club has partnered with
UNC to create a “Special Access” permit for our Club Member’s convenience!
This permit allows Members to park in any of the Club’s designated spaces
for an entire month for one small fee. It can be purchased between the
1st and the 5th of every month for just $15 at the Department of Public
Safety Office on Manning Drive, and is valid for that entire month. The
permit also carries the special privilege to park in the Ehringhaus Lot
(located across from the Club on Ridge Road). Special Access permits are
in limited supply, are for Club-usage parking needs only, and do not guarantee
space availability. They are subject to revocation for misuse and are restricted
during select special events.
Parking for
Evening, Weekends and Handicapped
Parking is usually available at no
charge evenings after 5:30pm and weekends however, athletic events and
concerts held on campus may occasionally affect parking availability or
charges. Contact the club for updates. 3 Handicapped-parking spaces are
available in the traffic circle off Stadium Drive. If all three spaces
are full, Members with handicapped parking privileges may park in a Service
or Visitor space also in the traffic circle. When this occurs please inform
the Club Receptionist.
Directions
to The Carolina Club
From I-40
Take Exit 273B (Dean Smith Center)
toward Chapel Hill & UNC. You will be on Hwy 54 (also called South
Road). Thus will bring you directly into UNC Campus. Turn left onto Stadium
Dr. at the Bell Tower. Pass Kenan Stadium on the right; then turn right
into the circular driveway at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center. Stop
at the parking booth and get a parking permit.
From Pittsboro (via 15-501 N)
Merge right onto Fordham Boulevard/15-501
Bypass. Take a left onto Manning Drive. Take Manning all the way to Columbia
St. and turn right. Turn right onto South Road. Go to the Belltower then
turn right onto Stadium Drive. Pass Kenan Stadium on the right, then turn
right into the circular driveway at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center.
Stop at the parking booth and get a parking permit. |
