Dear Ownbey Class,
This is my usual Wednesday e-mail but this time it
is sent on Monday because I'm leaving early tomorrow for the beach.

The discussion leader is Reatha Andrew, using the
book Understanding Islam as a resource. This is in
preparation for the visit of Rose Hamid, who will be our discussion leader
on the following Sunday. Rose was reared Baptist and converted to
Islam. She is a stewardess and wears her headpiece, even as a part of her
working uniform. Reatha asks that I encourage "folks to send any
particular areas they want me to address: Pillars of Islam, Islam
in America, Islamic view of afterlife, etc." Reatha's e-mail address is aftermath@mailstation.com.
The Garden Party is Sunday 5/25 at the Gossetts at
2044 Stedwick Place. Harriette Thompson is in charge and is providing
delicious refreshments.
