Hi All Ownbey Folks

The main purpose of this invitation letter is to ask how your Ownbey Sunday School Class, for the remainder of 2003, can meet better your needs. Please return the attached Feedback Form to Dsr or any Ownbey Officer or Chair. No need to sign your name. This is a chance to get your 2 cents in. All suggestions will be given serious consideration.

Another purpose of this invitation letter is to encourage you to join us Wednesday, 5/21/3 at our Second Ownbey Advisory Meeting of the year. Mail your Feedback Forms of comments or suggestions before the meeting or bring to the meeting. The agenda will be modified based on your feedback. I promise you it will be a fun and lively meeting.

What an exciting year this has been for Myers Park U Methodist and Ownbey. We still are excited about our new facilities as we work out some of the kinks. Our Grand Opening /Consecration is June 1. I am sure you know the times that day are Sunday School 9-10 and one service at 10:30 in the Sanctuary with video into Jubilee Hall.

Ownbey will get a chance to start over in a new room before June 1. Our Sunday School Class has had an exciting first half of the year with good lessons and the thrill of our new facilities. Attendance continues to hold up but there is evidence of vacation missing already. William Webb’s teachers are planning an outstanding schedule of classes for the second half of the year and I know you will want to be present. Try to plan accordingly.

On Wednesday May 21, after the Hot Wednesday meal, we will have our second Ownbey Advisory Meeting of the year, and every one is invited. Make a reservation on or before Monday, May 19 by calling 704 376-5520 x5600. Cost $6. I already have made mine. Come for the meal between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., and then we will move to the south end of Jubilee Hall for our meeting – even if we have to compete with the children’s enthusiasm and speak louder than usual. Or skip the meal and come for the meeting at 6:45. The meeting will not last beyond 9 p.m. and probably end earlier.

The purposes of the 5/21 meeting are:

1) Fellowship

2) Fine tune for the remainder of the year

3) Thank our Officers and Chairs and other contributors.

4) Thank our teachers.

5) Feedback from Officers / Committee Chairs.

6) Discuss Suggestions received from Feedback Forms

7) Rview, consider, revise, Ok Handbook draft.

8) Revise any policies needed

9) Begin planning for 50^th anniversary celebration of the class

10) Give class members an opportunity to be heard.

11) Etc., based on your feedback

A Feedback Form and envelop are attached for your convenience. Mail to me or any officer or chair. Postage already paid for you so please do it today. Let us know what we can do to make the Ownbey Sunday School meet your needs better, especially for the remainder of 2003. The Agenda will be modified based on your feedback.
